About the Class:

Story Pictures are a great way to assist young learners or delayed learners to learn literacy. By looking at an image of people doing things together we can tell a story about the picture, draw the story, write the story, and then read the story back. Through this process, learners learn to read by first drawing and writing. Most students these days are visual learners and therefore learn best through visual thinking strategies. Using Story Pictures can provide the visual foundation for using the eight processes of literacy; reading, writing, listening, speaking, thinking, calculating viewing, and drawing, to help students learn the language, both oral and written. In this workshop we will explore using Story Pictures to help young learners to tell a story, draw a story, write a story, and read a story.

Washington clock hours are available as well as a certificate showing the hours of continuing education you received.

Those who participated in this live workshop have agreed to be recorded and given permission for their likeness to appear in the video for others to view later.
