Most learners today are visual thinkers, yet English—a low-context, time-based language—favors auditory processing, making it challenging for many students to acquire language naturally. This workshop, led by Dr. Louise Debreczeny and rooted in INSL LLC’s Draw-Write-Read™ approach, explores the hidden assumptions within English that create barriers for visual learners.
Participants will discover practical strategies to:
- Add context and meaning to language instruction
- Support students in processing and retaining language visually
- Reduce the stress of phonics-based approaches that don’t align with how many learners think
By aligning instruction with how students naturally acquire language, educators can ensure deeper understanding and more effective literacy development for all learners
