Description
About the Class:
When a child struggles to learn within the traditional school system, it’s not because they lack ability—it’s because the system isn’t designed for neuro-diverse thinkers. In this workshop, special education teacher and parent of a neuro-diverse learner, Maryjane Sander Mellmer, M.Ed., shares practical strategies to help neuro-diverse children access learning in ways that make sense to them.
Participants will learn how to:
- Understand why neuro-diverse students struggle in traditional education
- Adapt curriculum and home learning to better support their needs
- Incorporate movement and visual strategies to improve engagement
- Meet students where they are to create more meaningful learning experiences
This workshop is designed for parents, educators, and specialists who want to help neuro-diverse learners thrive in any educational setting.
