Description
About the Class:
Traditional behavior management often relies on rewards and punishments, but do these methods truly support long-term learning and self-regulation? In this workshop, Dr. Emily Jaskowiak, Ed.D., CCC-SLP, explores a neuroscience-based, whole-child approach to fostering autonomy, connectedness, and competence in children—without relying on external reinforcement systems.
Participants will learn how to:
- Shift from behavior control to meaningful learning
- Teach social and behavioral concepts instead of enforcing compliance
- Recognize when and how to support children in moments of crisis
- Foster intrinsic motivation and self-regulation in learning environments
By understanding how children acquire language and process experiences, educators and caregivers can create environments that empower students to thrive—without the stress of rigid behavioral systems.
